Hideo Kojima Praises Premiere Episode of Dandadan Anime

The highly anticipated anime Dandadan has finally made its debut as part of the Fall 2024 season, and the first episode has garnered praise from renowned game creator Hideo Kojima. Known for his work on Death Stranding, Kojima shared his thoughts on the premiere via social media.

Kojima admitted that while he hadn’t read the original manga by Yukinobu Tatsu, the show’s themes of the occult and UFOs resonated with him. He expressed appreciation for Science SARU’s unique animation style and the character designs by Naoyuki Onda. Kojima concluded by saying he plans to continue watching the series.

Dandadan follows two protagonists, Momo Ayase and Okarun who are on opposite sides of the paranormal spectrum regarding what they’ll believe in and what they won’t. Their quest to prove each other wrong leads them down a path of secret crushes and paranormal battles they’ll have to participate in to believe!

Dandadan has been one of the most anticipated releases of the year, with its premiere receiving early screenings in theaters that were met with enthusiasm. The series, streaming on Crunchyroll and Netflix, will run for 12 episodes this fall.
