The Game Awards 2020: the complete list of winners and nominees!

We can honestly say that these past few years, yes even 2020 have been really for the gaming industry despite the pandemic hitting us hard. Amazing titles came out like The Last of Us 2, Ghost of Tsushima, and Genshin Impact, even casual yet super fun games like Among Us and Fall Guys had our minds blown on just how fun they are to play. Indie games? Phasmaphobia took center stage as well, something we don’t see too often being recognized. And recognized they did like this year’s annual Game Awards 2020 went off without a hitch.

For those who don’t know, The Game Awards is an annual awards ceremony honoring achievements in the video game industry. It was first established in 2014 and has since become one of the biggest events in the gaming industry. Because of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, instead of being held in a venue, this year’s Game Awards was aired live from Los Angeles, London, and Tokyo from 3 different in-studio with no audiences present in their locations. This is by no means an easy feat to pull off.

But despite everything else, they were able to do it, complete musical performances for the online viewers’ thanks to Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder and the London Philharmonic Orchestra. They even got celebrity guests to announce the winners like Brie Larson, Gal Gadot, JackSepticEye, John David Washington, Josef Fares, Keanu Reeves, Nolan North, Reggie Fils-Aime, Stephen A. Smith, Tom Holland, Troy Baker, and Christopher Nolan.
