A massive Pokémon leak, dubbed the “Teraleak,” has revealed information about a new multiplayer Pokémon spin-off game, codenamed Project Synapse. This title, co-developed by Game Freak and ILCA, reportedly takes inspiration from Nintendo’s Splatoon series. The leak, shared by well-known Pokémon leaker Centro Leaks, includes early development screenshots and details about the game’s mechanics and features for the Nintendo Switch.

Project Synapse: What We Know So Far
According to the leaks, Project Synapse is a multiplayer Pokémon game featuring online co-op gameplay. Players will create avatars and ride Pokémon such as Garchomp, Samurott, and Electivire. The game aims to introduce a unique gameplay mechanic where players can calm wild Pokémon by either using Poké Balls or physically riding and taming them.

Splatoon Influence and Customization
One of the standout features is the game’s resemblance to Splatoon. Players can use a Smeargle-shaped paint gun to mark their riding Pokémon with customizable shapes and colors, including stars and hearts. While the development status remains unclear, these elements indicate that Project Synapse aims to offer a fresh, multiplayer-driven experience.

Part of the Larger Teraleak
Project Synapse is just one piece of the larger Pokémon “Teraleak,” which also revealed beta footage from earlier Pokémon titles like Black and White and X and Y. Additionally, details of an unannounced game, Pokémon Legends: Z-A, were leaked, hinting at new Mega Evolutions for Zygarde and Zeraora.
Although the information comes from unofficial sources, the leaked details about Project Synapse offer an exciting glimpse into a potential new direction for multiplayer Pokémon games. As with all leaks, it’s essential to treat this information with caution until official announcements are made.
