Activision Blizzard confirms new game based on Warcraft is set to launch this year

Activision Blizzard has just recently finished their quarterly earnings report, along with a big press release: They have officially confirmed that the company is working on a brand new mobile game based on their Warcraft franchise and is set to be released later this year.

Not much has been revealed about it just yet but according to the press release, “Blizzard is planning substantial new content for the Warcraft franchise in 2022, including an all-new mobile Warcraft content into players’ hands for the first time.”

There has been no solid confirmation as to what game genre it will be but there might be a chance that this will be World of Warcraft Mobile, but don’t quote that on us just yet and take this with a grain of salt for now until Blizzard officially reveals the game.

The news has been floating around since August of last year ever since the company stated that they are making multiple projects based on Warcraft, but this is the first time we’ve got confirmation about one of those projects. There were also rumors of a Pokemon: GO style location-based augmented reality game based on Warcraft also in the works.

It’s interesting to note that a brand new Warcraft Mobile game is already set for a grand release this year, meanwhile Diablo Immortal is yet to be seen. The dungeon crawler RPG is also set to be released this year but with no specific date marked down.

Despite all the issues Activision Blizzard is currently facing, it’s good to see that they are still chugging along and sticking to their plans. Hopefully, we’ll be able to catch a glimpse of this new mobile game based on Warcraft in the coming months.
