“Final Fantasy VII The First Soldier” To End Service On January 2023

Square Enix has recently announced that its mobile battle royale, “Final Fantasy VII The First Soldier” will be ending its service on January 11, 2023, barely a year after it went live for Android and iOS devices citing that the reason was that they couldn’t deliver the service it wanted despite the regular updates.

The developers announced the termination of service on the game’s official website saying that “after almost a year of jumping around on Chocobos, mashing it up in melee battles, and sniping from the rooftops of Midgar Undercity, it is with a heavy heart that they were announcing the end of service for Final Fantasy VII The First Soldier.”

The game will end its service on January 11, 2023, at 07:00 UTC. That’s around 3 months left. As of this writing, the ability to purchase Shinra Credits has been removed. If you’re still playing the game, the developers have advised that you should spend all your remaining Shinra Credits before the end of service. Despite this, “Final Fantasy VII The First Soldier” will still be getting updates and in-game events, with the latest one being the Halloween Event that has a zombie mode.

The message on the website ends with the developers saying that they hope players will still continue to enjoy the game until the very end.

“Final Fantasy VII The First Soldier” launched on November 17, 2021, and was a hopeful competitor against other big battle royale game titles on mobile like “Fortnite,” “Apex Legends Mobile,” and “PUBG Mobile.” The game was unique because it mixed technology with magic, a signature trait of “Final Fantasy” games.
