The previously canceled “World Of Warcraft Mobile” may still be alive! We’ve previously reported that a mobile version of Blizzard’s massively popular PC MMORPG was canned because of financial disputes with their partner, NetEase. But now new information has come to light that may be a silver lining to those who have been wanting a “WOW Mobile” since the dawn of mobile MMO gaming.
The new information came directly from Blizzard’s website. They have currently posted job listings for Principal Pipeline Technical Artists and Principal Character Concept Artists an unnamed mobile game project based on the “Warcraft” franchise. Just a reminder, “World Of Warcraft” was in development at Blizzard in cooperation with NetEase for 3 years before it got canceled because of their financial dispute. Despite this issue, a spokesperson for Blizzard has recently stated that both companies still have a “successful relationship” and are still working together. The question now is are these job listings for a possible continuation of development for “WOW Mobile?”

Blizzard teased a new mobile game based on “Warcraft” a few months back that turned out the be “Warcraft Arclight Rumble,” a game that plays similar to Supercell’s “Clash Royale.” A lot of people were almost sure it was a mobile version of “World Of Warcraft” since the game has been copied numerous times, proving that the game can perfectly run on mobile devices. But alas, it wasn’t the case.

As for the new job listings, it may be indeed for “WOW Mobile” but also, it may not be at all. Blizzard did mention before that they were making multiple mobile games based on the “Warcraft” franchise so it’s also possible that it’s for a totally different game. But it would raise a lot of eyebrows if Blizzard just threw away 3 years of work out the window. It would make more sense if they decided to continue developing “WOW Mobile” with or without NetEase. But who can say for sure, right?
As with all game rumors and speculations, take this with a grain of salt for now. Hopefully, Blizzard would see sense and continue developing “World Of Warcraft Mobile” cause if they did, it would probably blow the mobile gaming scene to Azeroth and back again.
