“NBA All-World” AR Mobile Game Launching In January 2023

“Pokemon GO” developer, Niantic has officially announced the release date for “NBA All-World,” the company’s latest Augmented Reality (AR) title that is described as a  “real-world mobile basketball game.” Created in partnership with the National Basketball Players Association (NBPA), the game is set to launch for Android and iOS devices on January 24, 2023.

The official game description states that “NBA All-World” unleashes the “new era of Hoops.” Players will go outside, step into the sneakers of today’s NBA stars & go 1v1 against the best players in the world. You can explore your neighborhood while competing in mini-games to Rule the Court. As you’re out and about, be on the lookout for sneakers & gear drops to flex your style & increase the performance of your squad. This culminates in you representing where you’re from along with the best ballers in the world.

Not much information has been revealed about the game just yet but knowing Niantic, it will most likely be just a reskin of “Pokemon GO.” Instead of collecting Pokemon, you collect sneakers and gears, and instead of Pokemon Battles, you play basketball. If you’ve played any Niantic games before, you’ll probably get the hang of the game really fast as Niantic hasn’t really innovated anything in regard to their general game mechanics and overall gameplay. Most of their games are just different versions of “Pokemon GO” just sporting a new theme.

“NBA All-World” is set to launch globally on January 24, 2023. You can follow their Twitter to get the latest updates. To pre-register and for more information about the game, visit their official website.
