“War Legends” Is A “Warcraft” Inspired RTS For Android & iOS

Gear Games Global has recently revealed their new game, “War Legends,” A real-time strategy game that plays similarly to classic RTS games like “Warcraft III” and “Starcraft.” By “classic,” we mean the game contains all main RTS components without considerable simplifications. There are workers. A player mines resources, construсts buildings, and controls units. No auto battles take place. All that classic goodness.

In “War Legends,” there’s no asynchronous multiplayer. A player is in full control of every unit on the battlefield. It resembles “Warcraft,” “Starcraft,” and any other classic PC RTS game. The world of “War Legends” contains magic, mystical creatures, and archetypal races, including humans, orcs, elves, etc. The game is made for mobile devices only (Android- and iOS-based smartphones and tablets). There won’t be PC or console versions. In order to run the game on PC, an emulator will be needed.

Gear Games Global admits that “War Legends” was developed with “Warcraft II” as inspiration. However, the game isn’t a new part, a sequel, fanfic, or a “Warcraft” clone. There’s no connection between these two game worlds at all. The plot and main characters differ drastically. Game mechanics are different, too. You may draw parallels with “Warcraft.” According to the developers, phrases in the fashion of “mobile Warcraft” and even “not made by Blizzard” will be just right.

Current game modes available now:

  • 1vs1 Rating battles
  • 1vs1, 2vs2, 3vs3 Custom battles

Game modes currently in development:

  • Single-player and Coop Survival mode
  • 2vs2, 3vs3, and FFA Rating battles
  • Blitz mode without building a base
  • Additional events, special modes, and tournaments

“War Legends” is currently open for testing. Below you can find the links for the iOS Test Flight, Android Play Store link, as well as an APK link directly provided by the developers.

The second testing phase is underway. Right after completing a tutorial, all participants have all units, heroes, and buildings available. There’s no need to unlock anything, so any tester can easily check how everything works together. Players can register on the “War Legends” website to ensure they don’t miss the release and be the first who play the game.
