Last year, Square Enix announced that the Closed Beta Test for their upcoming mobile RPG game, “Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis” was going to be delayed. The game was supposed to enter its CBT phase for Android and iOS around Q3-Q4 2022 but is now scheduled for summer 2023.
Why is it delayed?
“Final Fantasy’s” Tetsuya Nomura gave a brief explanation through Twitter about the postponement stating that they’re still trying to make the game better. A new trailer was also shown alongside the delay announcement. The video gives us a better look at the Closed Beta Test coming Summer of 2023 for iOS and Android. You can watch the trailer down below.
About “FFVII Ever Crisis”
“Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis” compiles all the FF7 games into one neat little game for mobile devices. This includes the main storyline and also the spin-off games. “Ever Crisis” will retell the full complete story of Cloud and his adventures in Midgar. The game will be Free-To-Play which begs the question of how will the game earn money.
“We’re excited to reveal the latest trailer for “Ever Crisis”. Regarding the Closed Beta Test, it will be postponed until next Summer. We are working hard to make the game even better than expected, so please stay tuned for more updates in the future.”

Although still not confirmed, it is rumored that “Ever Crisis” will have a “purchase-per-chapter” scheme similar to “Final Fantasy XV Pocket Edition.” Again this is not entirely confirmed so it’s basically just a speculation.
