EA Announces Single-Player “Black Panther” Game

EA Games has announced an exciting development for fans of “Black Panther.” They are currently working on a single-player game in collaboration with Marvel Games. The project is being handled by Cliffhanger Games, a new triple-A studio based in Seattle.

The upcoming game is described as a story-driven third-person action-adventure experience. In a press release, Cliffhanger stated its mission to create a vast and dynamic world that allows players to embody the role of Black Panther, Wakanda’s protector.

Cliffhanger Games is led by Kevin Stephens, formerly of Monolith Productions, and comprises industry veterans who have worked on successful titles such as “Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor,” “God of War,” “Halo Infinite,” and “Call of Duty.” The team is actively hiring, and the Black Panther project is still in its early stages of development. Therefore, it will be some time before it reaches players’ hands.

The goal is to deliver an authentic Black Panther experience, empowering players to shape their narrative more than ever before in a story-driven video game. According to Kevin, Wakanda’s rich superhero world will serve as a sandbox for players to explore and enjoy.

Black Panther made his comic debut in July 1966, and this announcement coincides with the character’s 57th anniversary. While he has appeared as a playable character in various Marvel titles, this game will mark his first solo venture.
