Bandai Namco Online’s highly anticipated game, Blue Protocol, has faced significant challenges, raising doubts about its global release. Initially met with high expectations, international gamers were disappointed by their inability to access the Japanese servers. Adding to the woes, Japanese players are also growing bored with the game.

As Blue Protocol marks its first anniversary, Bandai Namco has acknowledged its struggles and outlined plans for improvement. The game has been criticized for its repetitive gameplay and lack of engaging content. The developers admitted their initial strategy to let players take their time with the game didn’t work as intended, leading to a decline in player engagement.

The upcoming “Beyond” update aims to revitalize the game with new hack-and-slash and treasure-hunting elements, alongside more casual activities like tag, hide and seek, and beach volleyball. Future updates may also include a housing feature. Efforts to make the game more user-friendly, such as better guides and easier navigation, are also underway.
Despite these challenges, the developers are optimistic that the “Beyond” update, launching on June 26, will transform Blue Protocol into a more enjoyable experience. Whether these changes will be enough to ensure a global release remains to be seen.
