A New Tales Game Might Be Announced For The Franchise’s 30th Anniversary

Next year marks the 30th anniversary of the beloved Tales franchise, and Bandai Namco has hinted at an exciting new development. The most recent entry, Tales of Arise, released in September 2021, has sold 3 million copies as of February 2024.

At a recent shareholders meeting, a company representative teased, “There are things I can’t reveal at the moment, but please look forward to upcoming announcements.” While no specific details were given, speculation is rife that a new Tales may be in the works.

The franchise began with Tales of Phantasia for the SNES in 1995. Each main entry, totaling seventeen so far, features unique plots and characters, but the core gameplay and themes remain consistent. The series also includes multiple spin-offs and supplementary media, such as manga, anime, and audio dramas.

As the anniversary approaches, fans eagerly await what Bandai Namco has in store, with hopes high for a new installment in the beloved series.
