Mercedes-Benz Korea has paid tribute to Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok, one of the most iconic esports players, by gifting him a customized Mercedes-AMG SL 63 4MATIC+. The presentation took place on Thursday at AMG Seoul in Gangnam District, recognizing Faker’s induction into the League of Legends Hall of Legends as its inaugural member in May. This special-edition roadster was crafted through Mercedes-Benz’s Manufaktur program, which allows for bespoke customization options.

The vehicle features Faker’s signature on the headrests and Hall of Legends branding on the floor mats. It is equipped with a 4.0-liter V8 engine that produces 585 horsepower and 81.5 kilogram-meters of torque, allowing it to reach a top speed of 315 km/h (196 mph). The car’s agility and performance reflect Faker’s precision and dominance in the world of esports, especially in League of Legends, where he has been a key figure since 2013.

Mathias Vaitl, CEO of Mercedes-Benz Korea, presented the car and a bespoke art piece during the ceremony. The artwork, created in collaboration with a renowned design studio, features Faker in his hometown of Seoul next to the car, reflecting the League of Legends aesthetic. The event marks a significant moment in the ongoing partnership between Mercedes-Benz and Riot Games, which began in 2020.

In addition to the vehicle, Mercedes-Benz has been deeply involved with global League of Legends esports events, including the World Championship and Mid-Season Invitational. The Hall of Legends induction, with Faker as the first member, showcases the growing collaboration between the luxury automaker and the esports world, underlining Faker’s impact on both industries.
