Square Enix Delays Launch of Kingdom Hearts Missing-Link

Square Enix has officially postponed the release of Kingdom Hearts Missing-Link, the upcoming GPS-based action RPG set in the iconic Kingdom Hearts universe. Originally planned for 2024, the game’s launch has been pushed to an unannounced date, leaving fans eagerly awaiting further updates.

Development Timeline of Kingdom Hearts Missing-Link

Initially revealed in April 2022 during the franchise’s 20th-anniversary celebration, Kingdom Hearts Missing-Link embarked on a rigorous testing schedule:

  • January 2023: Prototype testing in Japan.
  • November 2023: Closed beta testing for iOS in select regions.
  • January 2024: Closed beta testing expanded to Android.

The game, which allows players to explore the realm of Scala ad Caelum using GPS-based or manual movement controls, was anticipated to officially launch by the end of 2024. However, this timeline has now been revised.

Statement from Square Enix

The announcement came via a tweet on X (formerly Twitter), where the developers expressed their regret over the delay. Square Enix shared:

“We sincerely apologize to all players who have been looking forward to the release. We appreciate your patience. Please look forward to further information.”

While no new release date has been set, the developers reassured fans that updates would follow soon.
