Dragonfly, the renowned South Korean game developer, has officially announced the highly anticipated Special Force Remastered, a sequel to the classic online FPS game that debuted in 2004. The remastered version is set to launch in 2025 and promises a more immersive and visually stunning experience, powered by Unreal Engine.

Enhanced Graphics and Gameplay

One of the most notable updates in Special Force Remastered is its cutting-edge graphics. Utilizing Unreal Engine, the game features lifelike character models, intricately detailed weapons, and immersive environments. Fans of the original game will recognize iconic levels such as the Desert Position, which has been revamped with fresh visuals and added details, making it more engaging and realistic.

The gameplay has also been modernized. The updated shooting mechanics ensure smoother and more realistic interactions, giving players an enhanced first-person shooter (FPS) experience.

Showcase at G-STAR 2024

Dragonfly unveiled gameplay and development plans for Special Force Remastered during the G-STAR 2024 International Game Show held from December 14–17. Park Cheol-seung, a key figure in the game’s development, demonstrated the game and shared insights about its progression. Industry insiders had the opportunity to witness the game in action during the B2B exhibition, solidifying its status as the official sequel.

Beta Testing Timeline

The developers have confirmed that Special Force Remastered is on track for a beta release in 2025. While the exact dates for the beta test are yet to be announced, fans are encouraged to stay tuned for updates as Dragonfly prepares to deliver a next-level FPS experience.
