After selling over 2 million copies of the Silent Hill 2 remake within four months of its October 2024 release, Konami and Bloober Team have announced a new partnership to develop another game based on Konami’s intellectual property.

Building on Success
The Silent Hill 2 remake not only achieved commercial success but also garnered critical acclaim, earning several nominations at The Game Awards and being recognized as one of the best video games of 2024 by GQ. This positive reception has strengthened the relationship between Konami and Bloober Team, leading to this new collaboration.

Speculations on the New Project
While specific details about the upcoming game remain undisclosed, industry analysts and fans speculate that it may involve another installment in the Silent Hill series, given Bloober Team’s expertise in horror games. Alternatively, the project could explore other Konami franchises, such as Castlevania. Piotr Babieno, CEO of Bloober Team, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating that the trust built upon the success of Silent Hill 2 laid the foundation for signing another agreement for a new project.

Strategic Expansion
This collaboration aligns with Bloober Team’s strategic plan to expand its internal development division within a first-party framework. Konami will publish the upcoming game and retain its rights, continuing its role as a key player in the gaming industry.

Future of the Silent Hill Franchise
In addition to the new project with Bloober Team, Konami is actively expanding the Silent Hill franchise. Upcoming titles include Silent Hill Townfall, developed in partnership with Annapurna Interactive and No Code, and Silent Hill f, created by Ryūkishi07.
