NetEase Games is gearing up for something big! Their latest title, Project: Extreme, has officially been registered with the National Press and Publication Administration (NPPA) in China. Listed under the name Extreme Battlefield, the game secured its publication license on April 18, 2025, opening the door for public testing to follow very soon.

What Is Project: Extreme?
Project: Extreme is a survival-shooter set in a shattered world called GC-083, where violent storms and time-space fractures have torn the landscape apart into isolated Void Zones. You play as an investigator, sent to unravel the cause of the world’s collapse. But it’s not a simple mission—scavenging, surviving, and upgrading are your keys to making it out alive.
Players must gather essential supplies, fight off hostile survivors, and extract safely to upgrade their bases and gear. Every decision matters. Every escape is a victory.
How Project: Extreme Stands Out
Comparisons to Arena Breakout and Delta Force (both from Tencent) are already making the rounds. Sure, there are some visual and gameplay similarities, but Project: Extreme brings a unique flavor to the table. It’s not just another clone—this game seems to have its own identity, shaped by its grim, storm-ravaged world and intense extraction-based missions.
The game was rumored for a while, but now with the official license granted, the road is finally clear for testing phases and announcements. While there’s no official date yet, expect some news very soon!

Platforms and Expected Availability
Right now, Project: Extreme is confirmed for Android, iOS, and PC. The Steam page is live (though wishlisting isn’t open yet). More platforms could be added later depending on how the game’s launch shapes up.
NetEase’s move hints at a broader strategy to grab a bigger piece of the hardcore mobile and PC shooter market, especially with the popularity of extraction shooters surging.
