Black Beacon, developed by Mingzhou Studio, is under fire from its global player base due to significant disparities in compensation following the game’s problematic launch. While players worldwide grappled with technical issues—ranging from login failures to black screens—the compensation provided varied drastically by region.

In China, players received a generous package: a 5-star character selector and 30 premium pulls, valid for 30 days. Conversely, global players were offered only 30 standard pulls through a temporary code that expired within days. This stark contrast has led to widespread accusations of regional favoritism.
The community’s frustration is evident, with Black Beacon’s Google Play rating plummeting below 2.0 stars. Many players feel marginalized, expressing sentiments of being treated as beta testers rather than valued participants.

Developers Issue Apology and Promise Unified Compensation
In response to the mounting criticism, Mingzhou Studio released a statement pledging “unified compensation” for all players moving forward. While this commitment is a step towards mending relations, skepticism remains high among the community.
One player commented, “Honestly, I am not even bothered to go back to this game anymore. Optimization is bad then they give less reward for Global and take 2-3 weeks to correct their mistake. Sure never playing it again.”
Another added, “I feel like too much damage has already been done to make a full recovery; however, I hope with this, the devs can at least stabilize and start improving going forward.”

The Path Forward: Rebuilding Trust Through Action
Black Beacon boasts deep combat mechanics, stunning visuals, and a compelling narrative. However, these strengths are overshadowed by the recent controversy. To restore player trust, Mingzhou Studio must ensure equitable treatment across all regions and maintain transparent communication.
