Stellar Blade 2 Is Already in Active Development, Aiming to Become a Superior Series

SHIFT UP’s success with Stellar Blade has propelled the studio into the ranks of South Korea’s top game developers. Since its release, the team has actively supported the game with frequent updates and notable collaborations, including crossover DLCs with NieR: Automata and their hit gacha title Goddess of Victory: NIKKE. But the studio’s ultimate ambition is clear: to establish Stellar Blade as a lasting franchise, starting with a sequel.

Stellar Blade 2 Confirmed in Active Development

Rumors of a sequel have circulated for some time, reinforced by SHIFT UP’s previously shared roadmap. Now, the studio has officially reconfirmed that Stellar Blade 2 is in active development. The sequel promises to build on the first game’s signature action-focused combat while expanding the universe and introducing major gameplay overhauls.

Addressing Weaknesses of the Original

While Stellar Blade earned praise for its stylish combat and visual design, its story and characters drew criticism for feeling underdeveloped. SHIFT UP seems determined to address this with the sequel. With a larger universe and more ambitious narrative plans, Stellar Blade 2 is expected to deliver a richer, more engaging storyline alongside deeper character arcs.

Play the Original on PS5 and PC

For those new to the series, Stellar Blade is available now on PlayStation 5 and recently launched on PC with exclusive NIKKE collaboration DLC. Fans eager for updates on the sequel can keep track of developments through SHIFT UP’s official channels.
