Twitch Streamer Emiru Allegedly Assaulted During Meet-and-Greet

Emiru, a well-known Twitch streamer and cosplayer, was allegedly attacked at a meet-and-greet at TwitchCon 2025 in San Diego. Fans and staff at the scene were shocked when a man reportedly came up to her on stage, grabbed her face, and tried to lean in without her consent.

According to Emiru, the person was able to swiftly approach her after evading a number of security measures. She accused the event planners of a major safety failure, claiming that security did not respond right away. Only after her team stepped in and demanded action was the person removed.

Twitch said in a statement after the incident that the attacker’s actions were “completely unacceptable and deeply upsetting.” The platform also confirmed that the individual involved has been permanently banned from Twitch and all live events.

Emiru said she was shaken by the experience and that she would not be going to any more TwitchCon events. The incident has sparked new conversations about safety procedures in the streaming community, with many creators demanding more stringent safeguards and improved event planning going forward.
