Battlefield 6 Rolls Out Casual Breakthrough Mode to Ease Challenge and Progression Grind

Battlefield 6 is introducing a new mode called Casual Breakthrough that will allow you to finish tasks and get unlocks without the full ferocity of a typical PvP lobby.

Teams are much smaller in this mode, and matches are scaled down and crowded with bots, giving you more control and less chaos. With one significant exception, most of the experience gained from defeating bots is diminished, you will still be rewarded for taking on actual players and will continue to accrue career XP, weapon XP, and Battle Pass advancement.

Currently, Casual Breakthrough is available on two maps: Siege of Cairo and Empire State. Features like dog tags, accolades, and permanent career stat upgrades are disabled in this mode, so it’s more about progression than perfect stats.

Less Stress, More Enjoyment

If you’ve ever felt stuck grinding challenges or unlocking weapons in typical large-scale matches, this mode offers a breath of fresh air. It’s a middle ground between hardcore competitive play and casual fun. Whether you’re new to the game or want to try out a new weapon without feeling punished, Casual Breakthrough is there for you.

It also marks a change in the way the game caters to player demands, acknowledging that not everyone desires constant, intense PvP. This mode is worth trying if you’re more concerned with moving forward than with winning the most frags in chaotic lobbies.
