Sony and Tencent Settle Legal Battle Over Light of Motiram

Sony and Tencent have reached a confidential settlement to end their legal fight over the game Light of Motiram. Sony originally sued Tencent because they felt the game looked too much like the Horizon series. The lawsuit claimed the world design and the main character were far too similar to Sony’s property. While many thought the case would drag on for years, the two companies settled quietly this week. This means the lawsuit is now closed for good and cannot be reopened in the future.

Game Removed from Major Digital Stores

Immediately following the settlement, Light of Motiram disappeared from Steam and the Epic Games Store. If you try to visit the game’s page on Steam, you are now redirected back to the main homepage. Although the official website for the game is still active, all the store links no longer work. It seems the game has been pulled from public view entirely as part of the agreement between the two gaming giants. This suggests that the game might be cancelled or at least needs a major redesign.

Uncertainty for Future Release Plans

Before this settlement, some people believed the game was just delayed until 2028. Now, it is unclear if Light of Motiram will ever be released. Neither Sony nor Tencent have shared the specific details of their agreement, leaving fans to wonder what happens next. If the developers decide to bring the game back, they will likely have to change many of the visuals to avoid more legal trouble. For now, the project appears to be shut down indefinitely while the companies move on from the dispute.
