Pandoland Shuts Down After Short Run

WonderPlanet has announced the upcoming shutdown of its adventure RPG, Pandoland, which is scheduled for March 6, 2026. This news comes as a surprise to many, especially since the game was developed by GameFreak Inc., the team famous for the Pokémon franchise. The game originally launched in Japan in June 2024 and had only been available globally for a short period. While the developers expressed deep gratitude for the support and feedback received from the community, they did not provide a specific reason for the sudden termination of service.

No Offline Version Planned

Following the announcement, the game will disable all in-app purchases starting January 5. While the title will remain available for download on app stores until the final shutdown date, players should be aware that there are currently no plans for an offline version. This means that once the servers are turned off in March, the game will be completely unplayable. Some players have speculated that the shutdown is due to a combination of a grindy progression system and a lack of long-term engagement, despite early collaborations with popular brands.

Final Thank You Campaign

To give players a proper farewell, the development team has launched a “Thank You Campaign” that will run until the end of service. This event is designed to help fans enjoy the final moments of their maritime journey by providing easier access to various in-game rewards and content. While it is always sad to see a project with such high pedigree come to an end, this final period allows the community to gather one last time. Fans are encouraged to spend any remaining currency and complete their collections before the maritime world of Pandoland disappears for good.
