Garena Free Fire Battle Royale To Get An Anime Adaptation

Garena Free Fire, the popular battle royale shooting game, is getting an anime adaptation. Kadokawa and Garena announced their collaboration on Monday. Kadokawa Qingyu, a subsidiary of Kadokawa, will manage production, with a Japanese studio handling the animation.

Garena Free Fire, a third-person shooter game launched in December 2017. Just like other battle royale-type games, players are dropped onto a large island to scavenge for weapons and supplies while competing against others. The goal is to be the last person standing, with strategies varying between hunting opponents and hiding until the competition thins out.

According to Sensor Tower’s data.ai, Garena Free Fire was the most downloaded mobile game globally from 2019 to 2021 and the top mobile battle royale game in 2022 and 2023. As of February 2024, the game boasts 100 million daily active users.

The anime adaptation promises to bring the dynamic and intense gameplay of Garena Free Fire to a new medium, offering fans an exciting new way to experience the game’s action-packed world.
