The Philippines eyes historic 6th consecutive victory at the M7 World Championship, kicks off campaign via symbolic mural artwork launch

Two Teams, One Flag: Team Liquid continues its Golden Road Journey, Aurora Gaming defends the throne in the world’s biggest MLBB esports tournament

Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB), the star game of international video game developer MOONTON Games, gathered players, creators, and fans at Pop Up Katipunan, Manila, Philippines, on Friday for the M7 World Championship Send-Off Event, officially kicking off the Philippine representatives’ campaign to compete on the biggest Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) esports stage in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Team Liquid and Aurora Gaming PH are set to face each other in their opening match during the Swiss Stage on 10 January.

With the Philippines #DePHendingTheLegacy by securing a sixth consecutive M-Series championship, the event served as a unified call of support for the country’s representatives as they carry the nation’s banner in the M7 World Championship.

The Philippines’ official battle cry, “Two Teams, One Flag,” took center stage at the event—symbolizing how domestic rivals Team Liquid and Aurora Gaming PH set competition aside to stand united on the world stage. Bound by national pride and a shared sense of duty, both teams carry a single goal: to defend the M-Series crown and keep it in Philippine hands.

Team Liquid enters M7, continuing its ‘Golden Road journey’, an elite achievement that requires winning all major domestic and international titles in a single competitive year. Leading the charge is star jungler Karl “KarlTzy” Nepomuceno, who is also aiming to make history as the first three-time world champion in MLBB esports. Aurora Gaming PH joins them as a fellow representative determined to uphold the Philippines’ dominance in international competition.

A major highlight of the event was the official unveiling of the M7 Mural, a centerpiece artwork that celebrates the Philippines’ journey to the global stage. The mural, created by Melvin Rodas, embodies the global M7 narrative while weaving in the colors of the Philippine flag as its core cultural elements, symbolizing national pride, creative identity, and the collective support of the MPL PH community behind the teams.

“At M7, Team Liquid and Aurora Gaming PH don’t just represent their organizations, they carry the hopes of an entire nation that believes in them,” said Niel Anthony Lajot, PH Esports Marketing Communications Manager at MOONTON Games, during his opening remarks. “As part of this journey, we unveiled the M7 Mural — a visual tribute to everything the Philippines stands for in MLBB esports. This mural is more than just art. It is a symbol of our legacy, our unity, and our belief.”

“I wanted to capture the festive chaos and energy of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang,” said artist Melvin Rodas when asked about his inspiration for creating the M7 mural. “With the long history of Philippine teams winning the competition, I wanted to use art. I want fans to feel what I felt—that I contributed something to the history of winning. I want them to feel that they’re part of it as well, and to feel how we dominate the competition.”

Melvin Rodas is a Filipino graphic designer and illustrator known for blending bold visual storytelling with his deep love for sports, particularly basketball. He has worked on several National Basketball Association (NBA)-related projects, including creating artwork during Kevin Durant’s visit to Manila that highlighted the star’s journey and impact in the league. Rodas has also produced NBA-inspired illustrations featuring prominent players and basketball culture. M7 recently announced a landmark partnership with NBA, marking a significant step forward for MOONTON Games to continue to expand its global entertainment footprint. During the event, MOONTON Games also presented the teams with official Send-Off player kits to support their preparation as they head into the tournament.

To further unite the community throughout the tournament, MOONTON Games confirmed the M7 Watch Party scheduled for January 23 to 25 at the Mall of Asia Music Hall, giving fans a dedicated venue to watch, celebrate, and support Team Liquid and Aurora Gaming PH during the M7 World Championship.

Through the Send-Off Event, MOONTON Games aims to strengthen fan support and spotlight the unity, artistry, and competitive spirit that continue to define Philippine MLBB esports.

The Philippine representatives will compete in the M7 World Championship in Jakarta, where the country looks to make history once again.
