If you’re gonna advertise your game in the Philippines and want to maximize the exposure, slapping them on the jam-packed train lines is probably the best way to do it! And that’s what HoYoverse has cleverly done for its latest action RPG, Zenless Zone Zero! The company collaborated with local talents to put New Eridu on the Metro Rail Transit line of trains!
The credit for this captivating advertisement goes to Paul Phillip Sebastian, VP of Sales at LuponWXC, and the Country Manager of Linkworld PH, who spearheaded this remarkable marketing campaign. Of course, he wasn’t alone in making this spectacular feat; the Linkworld PH team and other talented individuals also played a crucial role in this endeavor.

- How did you get involved with HoYoverse and the Zenless Zone Zero Train Ad campaign?
“We were able to work with Hoyoverse with the help of our head company Linkworld which does a lot of the campaigns for Mihoyo across Asia.”
- How did you develop the idea of the “Train concept” for Zenless Zone Zero’s campaign?
“We wanted to be able to elevate the PH gaming industry similar to other countries in SEA like Thailand, Taiwan, and Indonesia wherein most of their train stations are really filled with really awesome gaming advertising and we want to bring that awesome vibe to PH and at the same time catch us up with the other countries!”
- What challenges did you encounter in obtaining approvals and gaining access to the LRT for your project?
“PH advertising regulations are very strict and rightfully so since they are also protecting the consumers and viewers of the ad! So there were a lot of regulations about showing weapons, guns, and revealing outfits which is very reasonable since we don’t want to give the youth today a negative impression! But they really helped us out throughout the process and helped us find a middle ground that will still make the characters stand out!”
- What are your impressions of Zenless Zone Zero?
“Zenless Zone Zero is one of the coolest games I’ve played so far! It brings that Urban Japanese RPG style and fuses it with hip-hop, and EDM elements that just make the game experience super amazing! The stories are also well-written and a very smooth combat system! Which makes the game very enjoyable!”
- Who are your favorite characters in the game?
“I’m enjoying Ellen and Lycaon right now even though I had to finish the 300 pulls just to get Lycaon on the selector lol!”
- Which Bangboo is your favorite in the game?
“Sharkboo!!!”
- What to expect more about the ZZZ campaign and your company in the future?
“You can expect even more awesome things since the campaign is not finished just yet there will be even more surprises! And you can count on it that there will be more surprises from Mihoyo for PH in the future! As long as the PH gaming community continues to show its love and support to Mihoyo for sure they will give us many more awesome things to have fun with!”
