Zenless Zone Zero Version 1.0 Agents Tier List

Welcome to our Zenless Zone version 1.0 tier list! This tier list is derived from Prydwen Institute’s tier list compressed into bite-sized information. Since ZZZ is a new game, the tier list is still quite small. But of course, as the game becomes bigger, the tier list will gradually increase as well, so be sure to check our upcoming updates!

About Zenless Zone Zero

Zenless Zone Zero, a new action game set in a near-future world, follows the aftermath of a mysterious natural disaster called the “Hollows”. The last sanctuary, New Eridu, has emerged, thriving amidst the chaos with advanced technology. As a professional ‘Proxy’, players navigate this dynamic world, linking the city with the Hollows.

Criteria of the Tier List

In Zenless Zone Zero, characters are assessed for their combat prowess, particularly in the challenging Shiyu Defense (SD) mode. Comparable to Genshin Impact’s Spiral Abyss and Honkai Star Rail’s Memory of Chaos, SD demands well-rounded teams, Disk Drives, and efficient W-Engines. This mode features both single-target Boss encounters and small Elite packs, creating a preference for characters with strong single-target abilities. The tier list reflects this bias, ranking characters based on their performance in these high-stakes scenarios.

ZZZ Version 1.0 Tier List

The tier list is categorized into 3 parts: DPS, Stunners, and Support. If you find that there’s no character in any of the categories on the tier list, it means that there’s no character who met those criteria yet on that specific tier grade.

Apex Agents

[DPS- Ellen], [Stun – Lycaon], [Support – None]

Ellen the first limited banner of the game is the best DPS right now who can deal massive ice damage. Coincidentally the best stunner Lycaon is often paired with her.

Top Tier Agents

[DPS – None], [Stun – None], [Support – Rina, Soukaku]

Top Tier Characters – Rina is one of the best S rank buffer support along with the A rank Soukaku who you can actually get for free just by playing the game. She’s also often paired with Ellen making the strongest team for version 1.0, the mono-ice team (Ellen, Lycaon, Soukaku.)

Great Agents

[DPS- Grace, Nekomata, Soldier 11], [Stun – Koleda], [Support – Lucy]

Great Characters – Grace is a great sub-DPS who excels at applying shock on enemies. Nekomata is a hyper carry who focuses more on dodges and counter-attacks, while Soldier 11 has raw damage output paired with fire attacks. Soldier 11 is often paired with Koleda, and Lucy which makes the mono-fire team. Grace can be paired with Anton and Anby for the shock team.

Good Characters

[DPS – Anton, Piper], [Stun – Anby, Ben], [Support – Nicole]

Anton is a great electric unit often paired with Anby, a good F2P stunner, and a flex for the third slot. Nicole is the only Ether-type unit in the game right now. Ben whilst slow, can stun faster than any A rank agent (and he’s also free), and Lucy can deal large amounts of damage with her charge attack given she’s not interrupted.

Somewhat Meh Characters

[DPS – Billy, Corin], [Stun – None,] [Support – None]

As both are free characters you’ll get once you start the game, it was obvious that they were the first ones to get replaced once players get better characters. Nevertheless, both Bily and Corin are fun to play, with Billy’s happy and quirky attitude while, Corin, well, who doesn’t want a buzz saw-wielding maid on their side?

Please do keep in mind that this tier list is derived from each character’s performance in Shiyu Defense mode. Each character has its uses in the game, especially now that it is only version 1.0 and the team synergies and compositions are slim pickings. At the end of the day, pick whichever character you want to play and enjoy the game. Tier lists are merely guides for you to have references and not something you have to exclusively follow. Happy gaming!
