ICYMI: All the Big Stuff From Jump Festa 2026

Every December, shonen fans are in for a treat with Japan’s annual Jump Festa, which is hosted by Shueisha’s Jump shonen magazines. This year’s fest took place on December 20-21 at Makuhari Messe in Chiba and, just like the previous, served the hottest anime news amidst the winter air.

In case you missed it, here’s a recap of the biggest announcements about the highly popular and rising shonen titles from the two-day festival.

1. My Hero Academia

To officially mark the end of My Hero Academia, a special video for its final season titled The Story of How We All Became the Greatest Heroes has been released.

Two upcoming projects were also revealed, along with a special visual, to commemorate the series’ 10th anniversary next year. These are a new special episode about Deku and the gang after the finale, and a special soundtrack concert which includes an overseas tour. The episode, titled More, will premiere on May 2, 2026, while the concert will be held first in Japan on May 30, 2026.

2. Gintama

The trailer and official poster for the upcoming movie Gintama: Yoshiwara in Flames have been revealed, unveiling SUPER BEAVER’s Sanzen as the movie’s theme song. It will premiere in Japan on February 13, 2026.

3. Jujutsu Kaisen

A brand-new trailer has been released for Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3, unveiling King Gnu’s AIZO as the opening theme song. Additional voice cast members were also revealed, and more characters were introduced in another version of the teaser visual. Along with these, Season 3 will premiere with a one-hour episode that contains episodes 1 and 2 on January 8, 2026.

4. Oblivion Battery

The Oblivion Battery Season 2 has been announced with a teaser visual and newly recorded voice-over footage. It’s set to premiere in 2027.

5. Kaiju No. 8

The production of Kaiju No. 8’s final chapter has been confirmed, with a decision visual and teaser trailer reveal. An original short anime titled Narumi’s Week at Work has also been announced.

6. The Prince of Tennis

A teaser visual and season premiere for the sequel to The Prince of Tennis II U-17 World Cup Semifinal have been revealed. Subtitled Final Member Selection Match, it’s set to release in Fall 2026.

7. World Trigger

A teaser movie for World Trigger REBOOT Project has been released. The reboot will cover the manga’s first chapter, Border Enlistment Arc, Large-Scale Invasion Arc, and the start of B-Rank Wars Arc. It will be titled World Trigger 1st Season and will be handled by Toei Animation.

8. SAKAMOTO DAYS

The production of Sakamoto Days Season 2 has been confirmed, with a teaser visual and teaser trailer reveal.

9. Mission: Yozakura Family

A teaser trailer has been revealed for Mission: Yozakura Family Season 2, set to premiere in April 2026. Sosuke Michibata was also shown as the new character, played by Kaito Ishikawa.

10. Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku

A brand-new trailer has been released for Hell’s Paradise Season 2, unveiling Tatsuya Kitani’s Kasuka na Hana as the opening theme song feat. BABYMETAL. A new character visual featuring Ju Fa and Tao Fa was also revealed, along with a mini-anime series to be streamed after the anime’s broadcast. Season 2 is set to premiere on January 11, 2026.

11. Mashle: Magic and Muscles

A teaser visual has been revealed for Mashle: Magic and Muscles Season 3. The season will cover the Tri-Magic-Athlon Divine Visionary Final Exam Arc and is scheduled for 2027.

12. Chained Soldier

A brand-new trailer has been released for Chained Soldier Season 2, including radio information. Both the anime and radio show will begin broadcasting on January 8, 2026.

13. Moriarty the Patriot 

A new stage musical has been announced to commemorate the original work’s 10th anniversary, revealing the poster and performer lineup. It’s a reprise of the first “A Study in Scarlet” musical and will run from June 27 to July 19, 2026, at The Galaxy Theatre in Tokyo. 

14. KochiKame: Tokyo Beat Cops

To commemorate KochiKame’s 50 years of serialization, a new anime project has been announced with a teaser visual reveal. A pixel art simulation game was also announced, titled KochiKame: Ryo-san’s Billion-yen Beat, but with no release date yet.

15. Mr. Clice

KochiKame author Osamu Akimoto’s action comedy manga Mr. Clice will be receiving an anime adaptation. No additional information has been revealed yet.

16. Kindergarten WARS

The teaser visual and main staff for the upcoming Kindergarten WARS TV anime have been revealed. It will be directed by Shinsuke Gomi at Sunrise with character designs by Junko Yamanaka. The character visuals also unveiled Atsumi Tanezaki as Rita and Kentaro Kumagai as Doug.

17. Blue Box

A “blue visual” illustrated by Rei Kato has been unveiled for Blue Box Season 2, which will air in Fall 2026.

18. Dr. STONE 

A teaser trailer has been revealed for Dr. STONE SCIENCE FUTURE Cour 3, along with a new character visual. Scheduled for April 2026, Cour 3 will mark the series finale.

19. Dandadan

A teaser visual has been revealed for Dandadan Season 3. It’s scheduled for 2027, with Science SARU continuing as the animation studio.

20. Bleach

A teaser trailer and teaser visual have been released for Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War Final Cour – The Calamity. It’s set to premiere in July 2026.

21. Akane-banashi

The key visual and main trailer for the upcoming Akane-banashi TV anime, slated for April 2026, have been revealed. The main cast includes Anna Nagase as Akane Osaki, Takuya Eguchi as Karashi Nerimaya, and Rie Takahashi as Hikaru Koragi. Five more characters were also introduced.

The anime will be directed by Ayumu Watanabe at studio ZEXCS, with series composition by Michihiro Tsuchiya, character designs by Kii Tanaka, and music by Akio Izutsu. It was also announced that a rakugo event will be held at Yurakucho Yomiuri Hall on May 7 and 8, 2026.

22. Chainsaw Man

The production of Chainsaw Man Assassins Arc has been confirmed, revealing a teaser visual and teaser trailer.

23. Look Back

A teaser trailer for the live-action film adaptation of Tatsuki Fujimoto’s Look Back has been revealed, along with director Hirokazu Kore-eda’s commentary. It will premiere in Japanese theaters in 2026.

24. ONE PIECE

It has been confirmed that the ONE PIECE Elbaph Arc is set for April 2026. The official trailer and key visual for the arc have been released. Along with this is the trailer for ONE PIECE Live-Action Season 2, set to premiere on March 10, 2026. Chopper will also get a mini-anime titled CHOPPER’s, starting January 5, 2026.

25. Hell Teacher: Jigoku Sensei Nube

A brand-new trailer for the second cour of Hell Teacher: Jigoku Sensei Nube anime reboot has been released. The cast includes Shunichi Toki as young Nube, and Yu Shimamura as Minako-sensei. THE ORAL CIGARETTES’ ERASE was also unveiled as the anime’s opening theme song, and Ayumu Imazu’s MAGICAL as the ending song. It will premiere on January 7, 2026.

26. The Elusive Samurai

The visual for The Elusive Samurai Season 2 has been revealed. It will air in July 2026, while Season 1 will have a rerun in April 2026.

27. Black Clover

A teaser visual and trailer have been revealed for Black Clover Season 2, which will begin airing in 2026.

28. Kill Blue

It has been announced that the upcoming Kill Blue TV anime will premiere in April 2026. The key visual and main trailer for the anime have also been revealed, including the other main voice cast members.

29. BLACK TORCH

Two additional characters for the upcoming BLACK TORCH TV anime have been revealed, namely Junichi Suwabe as Ryosuke Shiba and Reina Ueda as Usami.

30. ‘Tis Time for “Torture,” Princess

A brand-new trailer has been released for ‘Tis Time for “Torture”, Princess Cour 2, featuring Yuika’s Ohime-sama ni wa Narenai as the ending song.

31. Magilumiere Magical Girls Inc.

The trailer for Magilumiere Magical Girls Inc. Season 2 has been released, as well as the visual and main staff. It’s directed by Toshinori Fukushima at J.C.STAFF, with scripts by Michiko Yokote, animation direction by Masahiro Fujii, and music by Makoto Miyazaki. It’s set to premiere in July 2026.

32. STEEL BALL RUN JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure

The first trailer for STEEL BALL RUN JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure anime was revealed, announcing a 47-minute first episode release on Netflix on March 19, 2026. The key visual was also unveiled, including Sandman and Pocoloco as cast members.
