It didn’t feel like a tutorial, but more like an interactive cutscene that gives you a taste of what actual combat will be like once you enter real matches. It neither feel forced nor was it tiresome to go through. 

Veteran players can pick up a thing or two in the tutorial as well. The mechanics of the game is 100% like the PC version but of course, the control layouts are for touchscreens. So even if you already know your way around the game, the new controls for mobile need a bit of getting used to.

We’re all familiar with how battle royale games operate by now. Players will drop on a map that shrinks over time and you gotta loot weapons and gear to survive until you’re the last one standing. That is where other battle royale games and “Apex Legends Mobile’s” similarity ends. 

“Apex Legends Mobile is a team-based hero-shooter battle royale. Players will take control of diverse characters called Legends. Each Legend has its own unique set of skills, gameplay, and personality that players can choose to fit their own playstyle.

Since there are three players in a team, you can choose characters with skills that complement each other. For example, “Bloodhound” can see what enemies are up to once he activates this skill. If you pair him with “Mirage’s” diversion clones, you can bait your enemies to shoot the clones. Thanks to “Bloodhound” seeing what your enemies are doing, you can figure out if they’re reloading, and switch to the offensive from there.

There are over 20 Legends in “Apex Legends” so there are a lot of strategic playstyles to experiment with.

Communicate With Your Teammates Quickly And Easily

If you’re the type of player that is shy to speak with your team, no worries. “Apex Legends Mobile” has a “Ping System” that lets you communicate with your teammates without the need to talk or even press anything. 

We found that pings activate automatically in certain circumstances like when you spot enemies from a distance, or when you find better armor for your teammates to loot. This has been extremely helpful, especially when you need to pay attention to your surroundings.

Teammate Revival Is A Game Changer

In “Apex Legends Mobile,” you can resurrect your teammates if they get incapacitated. If one of you goes down, your teammate can grab their “Respawn Banner” and bring it to one of several reviving beacons found throughout the map. 

Reviving them takes a while but once it’s done, your teammate can return to the game and fight alongside you once more. This feature opens up a lot of doors for decision-making and tactical approach. 

Should you revive your teammate and risk getting ambushed at revival beacons? Or should you cut your losses and go on without them?

A Skill-Based Battle Royale Game

“Apex Legends Mobile” is a skill-based game that relies on a player’s ability rather than the luck you have when you drop to the battlefield. Even if your opponent is fully equipped from head to toe, as long as you know how to use your character’s skills, you can use them to your advantage and come out on top.

You can even get goodies and Legends by leveling up, which gives you the chance to jump right into the game as soon as possible. The free “Legends” you receive by leveling up have different roles. You can fill a position that your current team lacks and don’t have to worry about an unbalanced team setup.

Generous Game Progression

“Apex Legends Mobile” is generous when it comes to rewards. Playing a few matches can nab you a bunch of rewards. If you want to gain more, you can always get the battle pass or check out their store to see what’s on sale.

The items you can buy have no enhancing effects like damage boost or enhance your chances of winning a match. Most of them are purely cosmetic like legendary skins for your characters and for the weapons.

Additionally, you can also grind materials to craft those skins if you wish so, but it may take a while gathering everything you need.

Thanks to the mobile version, you can play “Apex Legends Mobile” anytime, anywhere. Sneak a few matches in between breaks or meet up with your friends, hang out and play together!

The gameplay is smooth and we never encountered any stuttering or lag even when there’s a lot happening on screen. Shooting on mobile is easy and intuitive whether it be hip fire or through scopes. Touch response is great which is something that is important when it comes to split decision moments.
