The Magicpunk MMO Action RPG Crystal of Atlan, developed by VI-GAMES, hosted an offline trial play event at High Grounds Cafe in Metro Manila on February 15. The event welcomed game testers, media representatives, and content creators, who gathered to experience and preview the highly anticipated upcoming game.

The developers has unveiled a new trailer announcing its global relaunch. The pre-registration is coming soon, players are encouraged to sign up for a chance to participate. In this magicpunk universe, players will be embarking on a journey through Atlan to uncover the mysteries surrounding the Crystal of Atlan, the world’s ultimate energy source.

Trial Event:
Attendees were given an overview of Crystal of Atlan, highlighting its unique features and what new players can expect from the game. The Marketing Director provided participants with the option to play on either Mobile or PC. A special mode, the Abyss Challenge, was exclusively available during the offline trial play. Additionally, the Wonderland solo challenge was recommended for a deeper dive into gameplay mechanics.
They talked in more detail about the features and the current progress of the game. However, they haven’t fully revealed everything planned, apart from the regional competitions and the world tournament. They also mentioned other game mechanics, which I’m confident fellow creators like myself will enjoy. The game offers multiple worlds for players to explore, GvG gameplay, and a Fleet system to interact with.

Multi Job Classes
There were four playable characters available: Scytheguard, Gunner, Berserker, and Magister, each fulfilling distinct roles within the game. During the overview session, it was revealed that players could select from four main classes—Swordsman, Puppeteer, Musketeer, and Magister—which later branch into eight advanced class options.
The variety of job classes is great as it allows for split progression and class advancement while still maintaining your primary basic class. Being able to play four classes on a single account offers a diverse gameplay experience. Additionally, the skill tree feature provides a great opportunity to create a unique class, which is a valuable option to have. In good news too, there will be more job openings in the future.

Personally, I enjoyed playing as the Scytheguard and Magister, as I gravitate toward long-range and healer roles in most MMOs. However, I’m certain many players will be excited to try out the Puppeteer class—after all, they are undeniably adorable!

Combat Experience:
Each of the main classes offers a distinct combat experience, and teaming up with other classes enhances the gameplay, making it feel like a true masterpiece in motion. In most MMOs, combat is the centerpiece of the game, as it defines each player’s gameplay experience and allows them to optimize their chosen class. What stands out in CoA is that, despite the variety of classes, the combat feels unique and offers different options depending on the abilities available as players progress. Another great feature is the inclusion of subclasses, which provide even more variety and allow players to choose between melee, ranged, or magic/healing roles, all while progressing through the story smoothly.
Regarding co-op play, players can still use the same character even if another player is using it too. There may be situations where most players are focused on DPS, leaving no healers or tanks, or the group might consist of three DPS and one healer or tank, with endless combinations and variety.

For the Scytheguard, combat revolves around a dynamic duo—a puppet wielding a massive scythe as a secondary weapon, while the main character, a female warrior, fights using a long whip. She has four unique skills, each of which can be activated three times in succession for extended combos. Additionally, she possesses a powerful ultimate ability that deals significantly more damage than her other attacks.
The Elementalist, true to its name, harnesses elemental magic to deliver visually stunning attacks, making every battle feel like a breathtaking dance of fire, ice, and lightning.
One of the most convenient features during the beta test was the quick-heal mechanic. A dedicated key allows players to instantly use potions when their health is low, making it especially useful for solo challenges.

Combat Strategy:
One of the most exciting aspects of Crystal of Atlan is its Unique Air Combo system. During combat, each skill chain seamlessly transitions into aerial combos, allowing players to stay airborne while dealing continuous critical hits to enemies or bosses. Each of the eight classes has its own distinctive air combo mechanics, and after testing four of them during the beta, I am even more eager to explore how the remaining classes play.
What I enjoyed most about this game during the beta is that they highlighted Air Combos, and they truly delivered. Air Combos are rare in most MMOs, as most games focus on ground combat, with only a few offering aerial combos or making them difficult to execute. In the beta, simply pressing a skill two or three times triggers the aerial combo, and it flows so smoothly that you’ll actually prefer fighting in the air during boss battles.
Having all four classes on the battlefield, each with its own unique playstyle, provides a great advantage when tackling high-level stages and bosses. You have your basic damage dealers and long-range support that can deal massive damage to both crowds and bosses. The support class also functions well as a tank, and the combat mechanics, such as quick recovery and aerial maneuvers, unlock a variety of combos and playstyles that cater to different players.

With its fluid combat, immersive world, and unique mechanics, Crystal of Atlan has certainly left a lasting impression. I can’t wait to see how the game evolves as it approaches its official release.
Future Plans:
The Marketing Director has also announced during the briefing is that there will be a pre-registration in the Philippines and it will be opening soon so please make sure to watch out this great opportunity that will be announced on their official Facebook page.
Overall, the experience is enjoyable and easy to pick up. The world is vast, with fast travel and plenty to explore. As the game progresses, it’s shaping up to be even more immersive. Another great feature is the ability to customize your outfit’s color, allowing you to create a unique look and stand out in a crowd. I’m excited to fully experience the game when it’s released, and I’m confident it will attract a large following, especially since it’s an MMO that offers intense grinding.
