Genshin Impact Raises Minimum Device Requirements Ahead of Future Updates

HoYoverse is tightening Genshin Impact’s minimum device requirements to ensure future content and heavier assets run more smoothly. The change raises the baseline across PC, mobile, and console so the game can keep evolving without dragging performance down for everyone. Older devices might still launch the game, but expect possible frame drops, freezes, or crashes. Act now if you want a reliable experience!

Platforms and the new minimums

Console: Support is now focused on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The PS4 version will be removed from the store and stop receiving updates in April 2026, so PS4 players should plan to migrate their accounts to a supported platform.

iOS: Minimum—iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone X, iPad mini (5th gen), iPad Air (3rd gen), or iPad (8th gen) running iOS 13 or later. Recommended—iPhone 12 or iPad (9th gen) or newer, running iOS 13 or later.

Android: Minimum—ARMv8-A 64-bit SoC, non-PowerVR GPU, Snapdragon 660 (Adreno 610) or Helio G88 (Mali-G52) or better, 4 GB RAM, Android 10. Recommended—Snapdragon 855, Dimensity 1000, Kirin 980 or better, 6 GB RAM, Android 12 or later.

What this means for players

If you play on PS4, bind your account and prepare to move platforms before April 2026. PC and mobile players should check system settings and consider upgrading if you want to run upcoming content without hiccups. Yes, some older phones and PCs might still launch the game—but be ready for instability during heavy scenes.

Why HoYoverse is making the change

Genshin Impact’s world keeps growing: bigger maps, richer assets, and denser systems. To keep gameplay consistent and avoid frequent crashes, the baseline hardware needs to rise. It’s about preserving quality as the game evolves.
