“Gundam Breaker Mobile” Is Officially Shutting Down In June

Bandai Namco Entertainment has announced that “Gundam Breaker Mobile,” the popular mobile game formerly known as “Gundam Battle: Gunpla Warfare,” will be shutting down this June on Android and iOS. The game was initially launched in Japan under “Gundam Breaker Mobile” and was later released internationally in 2019. It is a 3D action game featuring the Gundam Plastic Model or Gunpla for short, which are customizable plastic models of various mobile suits from the Mobile Suit Gundam franchise.

Fans of the game were disappointed with the news that the in-game currency purchase of Haro Chips has already been disabled, but all items can still be used in-game until the service ends, including any Haro Chips players have in their account. “Gundam Breaker Mobile” was North America’s first mobile Gundam game and has been a beloved game for many players since its release. Players can still try it out for free on the App Store or Google Play before it shuts down on June 4th.

Bandai Namco did not specify the exact reason why they are shutting down the game but many are guessing that it’s because of the gradual decline of users and revenue. Some have speculated that they have shut down the game because Bandai Namco is pooling their resources to currently salvage “Gundam Evolution” their 6v6 shooter game for PC and consoles that are supposed to have an eSports scene but is currently tanking hard.

While the shutdown of “Gundam Breaker Mobile” this June will be a loss for many players, there are still plenty of other Gundam games to enjoy. It is worth trying out the game before it shuts down and making the most of it while it is still available.
