Mo.co resolves the Chaos Shard Farming Exploit and Squid Blades Power Creep

Supercell just dropped a major update to mo.co, targeting two of the game’s most controversial exploits—Squid Blades invisibility abuse and Chaos Shard Premium Pass farming. These fixes are aimed squarely at restoring balance in Rift battles and leaderboard progression.

Chaos Shard Farming Exploit Gets Nerfed

If you’ve been grinding mo.co for leaderboard placement, chances are you’ve run into the Chaos Shard XP farming loop. Here’s how it worked: players would repeatedly defeat mobs, collect Chaos Shards, and gain 5,000 free XP from the Premium Pass—again and again.

This loop was giving high-level players a serious edge.

To level the playing field, Supercell has placed a cap on how many times this XP reward can be gained through Chaos Shards. No more endless farming for free pass levels. This move directly tackles the leaderboard inflation caused by this exploit.

Joao.co, mo.co’s community manager, clarified that this change mostly impacts the top 1% of players. Casual players likely won’t even notice the difference.

Squid Blades Invisibility Removed to Stop Matchmaking Abuse

The Squid Blades were once the go-to weapon for Rift battles—largely thanks to their stealth ability. But the community figured out how to exploit it.

Some players started refusing to participate in matches unless their entire team was using Squid Blades. If not, they’d go idle or lose on purpose. That kind of toxicity quickly started ruining the experience.

Supercell listened.

In this patch, the invisibility mechanic has been removed from Squid Blades. But it’s not all nerfs—they’re rebalancing the weapon and adding buffs to other features to keep it fun.

Final Thoughts

This patch is a win for fairness. By fixing XP farming and squashing power creep, Supercell is doubling down on mo.co‘s long-term integrity.

If you’re a competitive player, expect tighter matches. If you’re casual, enjoy a cleaner gameplay experience without exploiters getting ahead. Either way—it’s a step in the right direction.
