Netmarble’s “Knights Chronicle” Officially Shutting Down In July

Netmarble’s anime RPG, “Knights Chronicle,” has announced that its long-running service will come to an end on July 4th, 2023, after a successful run since its Japanese release in 2016 and its English version released in 2018.

The game has accumulated a lifetime revenue of over 26 million USD across 60 different countries, with its largest contributor being Japan, amassing over 7,000,000 USD. Although the game peaked during its opening years, it slowly saw a decline in popularity, leading to its eventual closure.

The shutdown will occur in waves, beginning with the payment block on April 4th, 2023. The server closure and download block will follow on July 4th, 2023, at 12:00 UTC+9, 20:00 PDT, and 23:00 EDT. Finally, the official forum will be closed on July 31st, 2023, at 12:00 UTC+9, 20:00 PDT, and 23:00 EDT.

Knights Chronicle was a free-to-play mobile RPG developed by Netmarble Games, featuring console-quality animation and over 160 unique heroes. The game was available on both iOS and Android platforms and attracted a loyal fan base during its peak.

Those who have yet to experience the game can still do so before the download block comes into effect. For further details on the game’s end of service, Netmarble Games has released an official statement on their website.
