Blizzard Entertainment is developing Overwatch Mobile, a mobile adaptation of its popular team-based shooter, Overwatch. The project is led by Walter Kong, the general manager of Overwatch, and is confirmed to be in active development.
Unlike its PC and console counterparts, Overwatch Mobile is expected to adopt a Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (MOBA) format. This shift positions the game to compete with established mobile MOBAs like Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, Honor of Kings, and League of Legends: Wild Rift.

NEXON to Publish Overwatch Mobile in Korea and Japan
NEXON, a leading South Korean game publisher, has secured the publishing rights for Overwatch Mobile in Korea and Japan. The company won the bid over other major Korean gaming firms, including NCSOFT, Netmarble, and KRAFTON.
While Korean companies sought global publishing rights, Blizzard limited the distribution rights to the two regions. Blizzard is directly handling the game’s development, with NEXON focusing on localization and regional publishing.

Anticipated Features and Competitive Landscape
Overwatch Mobile is expected to feature a roster of heroes with unique abilities, aligning with the franchise’s core gameplay. The MOBA format suggests a focus on strategic team-based battles, optimized for mobile devices.
The game enters a competitive mobile MOBA market, dominated by titles like Mobile Legends and Wild Rift. Blizzard aims to leverage Overwatch’s established brand and unique hero mechanics to differentiate its offering.
