The Pokémon Company has announced Pokémon Champions, a new battle-centric game for Nintendo Switch and mobile devices. This title allows trainers to engage in player-versus-player (PvP) battles using their cherished Pokémon from previous games, thanks to its integration with Pokémon Home.
A New Era of Pokémon Battles
Developed collaboratively by Game Freak and The Pokémon Works, Pokémon Champions focuses exclusively on delivering an immersive battle experience. Players can import Pokémon from titles like Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, as well as Pokémon Go, ensuring their hard-earned companions continue to shine in competitive arenas. However, it’s important to note that not all Pokémon available in Home will be usable in Champions, and those obtained in Champions cannot be ported back.

Integration of Classic and New Battle Mechanics
The game promises to blend traditional battle mechanics with innovative features. The trailer showcases the return of Mega Evolutions, with Mega Charizard X making a striking appearance. Additionally, mechanics from recent generations, such as Terastalization from Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, are confirmed, offering a diverse and strategic battle environment.
Accessibility Across Platforms
Pokémon Champions is set to launch on the Nintendo Switch family of systems, including the forthcoming Switch 2, as well as on Android and iOS platforms with cross-platform support. No official release date has yet to be announced.
