Fans of the highly popular mecha anime franchise, Mobile Suit Gundam have been buzzing because of the new Gundam games recently announced. One of them is for mobile, “SD Gundam G Generation Eternal,” which is a tactical gacha RPG coming for Android and iOS. Bandai Namco has recently revealed new information about the game. Gameplay Overview
The developers of “G Generation Eternal” gave some insightful info about the gameplay and the various systems that players will need to know. One of the most important features is the stamina system. The main story mode of the game will not consume any stamina but other modes will. This will give players the choice to play at their own phase.
18 different Gundam titles will be included in the game with new scenarios added every update. Each scenario can be expected to be cleared in around 15 minutes. It may sound long but compared to other G Generation games including the console versions, it would’ve taken players an average of 1 hour to complete it.
More improvements are promised to be implemented to the game like cutting down those 15 minutes even further.
Battle System
“G Generation Eternal” will retain the original grid-based battle system the franchise has been known for. Since this is a mobile game title, an auto-mode system is expected to be added for hands-free gaming.
And of course, the main eye candy of the battle system is the animated cutscenes as to when your units use their special moves. They’ve been cut down to a few seconds to fit the mobile gaming experience of bite-sized content but it will still look awesome nonetheless. This will also lessen the volume of data for the game.
Gacha System
“G Generation Eternal” will have a gacha system. This is where you can get the chance to obtain higher tier mobile suit units and copy units. The developers plan to have new units obtainable only through gacha but will also be available through various scenarios and events, probably when a good amount of time has passed since their banner went up.
New units will also be obtainable through development and production functions. Basically, the gacha system will allow players to get their favorite units early. If you have the patience, you can always skip the gacha and wait for your favorite unit to become available to obtain through other means.
The Gacha system will allow you to get the following:
- early-access to units
- units already upgraded to a high GRADE
- units that already have skills
- a chance to get units with Eternal Arms depending on the unit
Units obtained through Gacha may have a chance to be equipped with “Eternal Arms”, which will have special battle animations, a new feature unique to “G Generation Eternal.”
Upgrading And Training
By upgrading and training units, their status parameters will go up and get stronger. The main primary upgrade parameters are as follows:
- Lv – By upgrading a unit’s Lv, they will get upgrade points, which can be used to increase their status parameters.
- Grade – By upgrading the unit’s Grade, their status parameters will get a substantial increase.
- Alteration – This upgrades the unit’s status parameters.
- Skill Lv – This upgrades the effects of the unit’s skills.
- Ability Lv – This upgrades the effects of the unit’s abilities.
In “G Generation Eternal,” all Mobile Suit units will be near equal in power once fully upgraded to their max parameters, which will allow you to focus on upgrading your favorite units to create your dream squad and sortie. Each unit will still have its own unique skills and abilities, which will give them its own unique strengths and weaknesses.
Closed Beta Test
In the Closed Beta Test, players can experience a selection of stages featuring content from the Gundam series, create their own squad, and sortie. There will also be about 100 units available, and you will also be able to use functions like Training, Development, and Production to get units and characters!
