The Transformers franchise is set to return to its roots with Transformers: Eternal War, a new mobile game inspired by the iconic Generation 1 (G1) designs. Slated for release in 2025, this idle RPG is developed by Wanda Cinemas Games, and aims to capture the visual and audio elements that made the 1984 series a cultural phenomenon.
While gameplay details remain limited, the trailer provides a first look at Transformers: Eternal War, highlighting the nostalgia-driven design. Characters such as Optimus Prime, Megatron, Bumblebee, Soundwave, Starscream, Ratchet, and Jazz closely resemble their G1 counterparts, with design cues drawn from recent toy lines like Transformers: Titans Return and Transformers: Masterpiece. Storyline and Gameplay
The storyline in Transformers: Eternal War appears to be a fusion of classic G1 plotlines with elements from Transformers Animated. The game begins with the Ark crash-landing on Earth, a familiar setup from the 1980s cartoon. This also includes nods to the Autobots’ tagline, “transform and roll out,” and the Decepticons’ battle cry, “transform and rise up.”
Transformers: Eternal War promises a “retro, action-packed adventure,” but its designation as an idle RPG suggests gameplay will involve automated battle elements typical of the genre.
