At Tokyo Game Show 2025, Pawprint Studio revealed a new trailer and screenshots for Aniimo, their upcoming open-world monster-capturing game. The preview highlights a variety of charming creatures and vibrant environments in the fantasy world of Idyll, giving fans their clearest look yet at the game’s art and creature design.
Even though the latest trailer doesn’t dive deeply into gameplay mechanics, it does introduce a number of Aniimo species that players are expected to encounter. Varieties like Stellarys, Helgon, Hellmut, and the electric types of the Ignitis family appeared, as did friendlier monsters such as Skippy, Pranky, and Glacy. The developers explained some of their design philosophies—Stellarys, for example, is an evolution of Celestis that thrives on rainy days, possessing special abilities tied to water storage and offense.

Helgon and Hellmut were highlighted for their competitive relationship: they evolve into specialized forms to counter weaknesses in the other. Hellmut, for instance, can take on the form Rookguard—a metallic defensive shell—or become Pawney to challenge Helgon’s leader, Infregon.

Pawprint Studio also confirmed players can pre-register for beta testing on the official site. Those selected will get early access to newly introduced Aniimo species from the recent showcase.

In terms of gameplay, Aniimo is planned as an open-world adventure where players assume the role of a Pathfinder. Explorers will roam ecologically rich regions, befriend and battle with Aniimo, solve dungeon puzzles, and explore together with others. The announcement confirmed both PvE cooperative dungeons and PvP battles using player teams of Aniimo, though competitive mode details remain sparse.
