For indie developer Boxelware, 2025 marked a year of progress and creative achievements. With Aquapark Tycoon, the team is working on a richly detailed simulation focused on planning, building, and managing your own water park. As the year draws to a close, the studio reflects on eventful months and looks ahead with excitement to 2026, when Aquapark Tycoon is set to launch.

Exploring Deep Waters: First Demo on Steam

In May, Boxelware opened the doors to Aquapark Tycoon to the public for the very first time. With the debut demo on Steam, players could design their own aquapark, build slides, plan saunas, and try out the first management features.

Since then, a dedicated community has provided valuable feedback that flows directly into development. Many of the most requested features and improvements the team is working on today have grown out of this close dialogue.

Another highlight of the year: Gamescom 2025 in Cologne, Germany. Visitors got their first glimpse of new content and features: brand-new elements that will define the launch experience. Highlights included a first-person slide perspective, intuitive building tools for precise placement and creative design, as well as new attractions and themed areas that enhance the tycoon experience.

The response was overwhelmingly positive. For Boxelware, the feedback clearly shows that the concept of “summer, strategy, and fun” resonates strongly with players.

Looking Ahead to 2026: Even More Water Park Fun in the Works

As winter settles in, development on Aquapark Tycoon is heating up. The team has already completed a wide range of new features that will shape next year’s launch. More content additions, balancing tweaks, and gameplay improvements are also in progress. Here’s a glimpse of what players can look forward to in 2026:

• Slide POV: Experience your own water slides in first-person for the very first time – every curve, every drop, every rush of adrenaline up close.

• Lazy River: A crowd favorite that promises pure relaxation, carried by a gentle stream that sets the perfect vacation mood.

• Sauna Infusion Planner: A revamped system for managing sauna sessions, allowing personalized and atmospheric wellness experiences.

• Blueprints: Save, share, and instantly place fully built attractions.
• Rotate & Move: Build with even more precision using freely rotatable and movable objects.
• Color Presets: Apply cohesive or custom color schemes across all objects –perfect for creative park designs.

• Expanded Management Tools: From water quality and maintenance to decay and hygiene – keep everything under control for a perfectly running park.

Boxelware is also focusing on performance upgrades, scalable UI elements, and a range of quality-of-life improvements that make the experience smoother, and more enjoyable.
 Building the Future Together

Boxelware is currently working on a co-op multiplayer mode that lets multiple players design and manage their water park together. New scenarios with different biomes and objectives, expanded seasonal changes including indoor areas, as well as additional attractions and management systems are also in development.

To ensure the level of quality and depth Boxelware aims for with Aquapark Tycoon, the release is planned for 2026. Ahead of the launch, an updated demo will be available, offering even more features and polish.
