Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game Announces Closed Alpha Test

A closed alpha test for Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game, a one-on-one combat game set in the Avatar: The Last Airbender universe, has been announced by developer Gameplay Group International. Four playable characters, Aang, Korra, Katara, and Zuko, will be included in the test.

The full game will be available on PC and consoles, such as the Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5, in the summer of 2026.

What the Alpha Will Feature

While the exact dates and signup process for the alpha have not yet been revealed, the game’s core features have been outlined:

  • Initial roster of 12 playable characters at launch, with more added through seasonal updates.
  • A unique Flow System designed to encourage fast movement, dynamic combat, and skillful mobility.
  • Support characters that can influence your main fighter’s tools and fighting style.
  • Online cross-play and rollback netcode, alongside a single-player campaign, gallery mode, and combo trials.

Developing the Avatar Universe

Least to say, this is a significant step toward the Avatar franchise’s entry into the competitive fighting game market. It might be a serious contender for both series fans and fighting-game aficionados by fusing well-known characters with cutting-edge fighting mechanics and cross-platform play.
