What’s the concept behind the Hunter License and Greed Island?

Hunter × Hunter is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Yoshihiro Togashi. The anime is popular for its compelling storyline, complex characters, and well-constructed world with a unique power system called “Nen.”

In Hunter x Hunter, obtaining the Hunter License is a prestigious achievement. To do so, individuals must undergo the grueling Hunter Examinations. Possessing a Hunter License comes with numerous privileges, including the right to explore restricted areas, access to the secret Hunters-only website, free access to cyberspace, access to classified information, and take on lucrative and perilous jobs.

Meanwhile, Greed Island is a rare and mysterious video game within the Hunter x Hunter universe. Players must physically enter the game world to participate. The concept revolves around the quest to clear the game’s stages, gather cards with various abilities, and complete the game’s ultimate goal: acquiring all 100 restricted cards.
