Brown Dust 2 Vanishes from Steam Despite Reaching 200,000 Wishlists

The 2D turn based collectible RPG Brown Dust 2 has been temporarily removed from Steam, just two days after the developers, NEOWIZ, celebrated reaching 200,000 wishlists for the game. This mobile title, which originally launched in 2023, was scheduled to arrive on PC via Steam on December 15.

The Disappearance

The Steam store and community page for Brown Dust 2 became inaccessible on December 6, approximately 10 days before the anticipated PC launch. The publisher is currently in contact with Steam and has referred to the delisting as a “temporary restriction,” stating they are working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.

Possible Reasons for Removal

While there has been no official explanation from the platform, speculation points to two likely reasons for the removal. One possibility is the game’s “fan service heavy” content. Valve recently revised its guidelines, and many games featuring explicit or suggestive “adult content” have struggled to return to the platform in their original form. Brown Dust 2 is rated PEGI 18 with warnings for sexual content, which suggests this could be the cause. Another potential reason is the developers’ campaign to boost wishlists via a reward system, a practice that Valve generally frowns upon. The studio confirmed they would provide an update once more information becomes available.
