This strategic decision follows recent U.S. government bans on several ByteDance games, which were lifted on January 21, 2025, allowing these titles to return to app stores.

Background of the Transfer

The U.S. government’s crackdown on Chinese-owned applications led to the removal of several ByteDance games, including MLBB and Marvel Snap, from digital platforms. The enforcement of the Protecting Americans from Foreign Adversary Controlled Applications Act (PAFACA) cited national security concerns as the primary reason for the bans.

In response, ByteDance opted to transfer publishing rights to Skystone Games, a California-based publisher known for titles like Undying and Spacelines from the Far Out. This move aims to ensure a stable and sustainable gaming experience for U.S. players without selling any assets.

Migration Process for Players

The transition involves a migration process for both Android and iOS users:

Android Users: The current version of MLBB will be removed from the Google Play Store on March 27, 2025. The new version, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang.US, will be available on the same day.
iOS Users: The team is working with Skystone to expedite the App Store approval process. Once approved, notifications will be sent via in-game announcements.

Players are encouraged to bind their accounts to the current app to retain progress and claim exclusive rewards during this transition.
