Eldegarde Launches in January 2026 with New PvE Mode

Notorious Studios has announced that their fantasy extraction RPG, Eldegarde, will officially launch on January 21, 2026. This title was originally known as Legacy: Steel & Sorcery during its early access period, which began in February 2025. The 1.0 release marks a significant milestone for the game, as it transitions from a testing phase to a full launch. This update will be available on Steam and is free for anyone who has already purchased the early access version.

New PvE Mode for Casual Players

One of the biggest additions coming with the official launch is a dedicated PvE mode. This feature allows players to explore the world and fight monsters without the constant threat of other players. The developers decided to add this mode after hearing feedback from the community, who wanted a more relaxed “mini-MMO” experience. It is a great way for new players to learn the combat mechanics and explore maps like deep woods and sinister crypts before diving into more competitive matches.

Expanded Classes and Iconic Fantasy Combat

The launch version of Eldegarde also introduces expanded character options, including the Paladin and Wizard classes. These join the existing roster of Warriors and Rogues, giving players more ways to tackle the game’s challenges. Developed by industry veterans from Blizzard, the game focuses on high-quality combat and loot collection. Players must navigate dangerous environments, battle powerful knights, and extract safely to keep the treasures they find. With new maps and a social hub also included, the game offers a rich fantasy world for everyone to enjoy.
