Fellow Moon to End Service in China Due to High Costs

Fellow Moon, a cyberpunk-themed gacha game that garnered attention for its high-quality anime art style and mysterious atmosphere, has officially announced the termination of its services in China. Developed by Firewick Network Technology, the game originally launched on October 24, 2024. Despite its unique blend of supernatural elements, strategic combat, and distinct storytelling, the title is ending its run after approximately 14 months of operation.

Reasons for Closure and Refund Plans

The developer cited soaring development and maintenance costs as the primary reason for the closure, stating that they could no longer sustain the game long-term in a highly competitive mobile market. In-game purchases and donations will be disabled by December 30, 2025. Following this, a final update will be released, and the team will begin processing refunds for affected players.

Reflections on a Competitive Market

The announcement has left many fans disappointed, with players expressing their appreciation for the game’s character designs and immersive world. While Fellow Moon had a relatively short lifespan, it left a strong impression on its community. Its closure serves as a stark reminder of the challenges currently facing the gacha game industry, where high production costs and intense market competition can make long-term sustainability difficult even for visually impressive titles.
