Final Fantasy XIV Mobile Reportedly In Development

Fans of the Final Fantasy franchise have reason to celebrate as reports suggest that a mobile version of Final Fantasy XIV (FFXIV) is in development. According to a post by Kurakasis on the Exputer forum, Square Enix and Tencent Games are collaborating on this ambitious project. This collaboration continues their strategic alliance, which began in 2018.

The groundwork for this mobile adaptation might be traced back to 2021, when Yosuke Matsuda, then President of Square Enix, hinted at ongoing projects with Tencent, though no official announcements were made at that time.

FFXIV, initially launched in 2010 and relaunched in 2013 as Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, is a popular MMORPG known for its immersive world and traditional mechanics. Players gain experience points through combat, crafting, and quests, leveling up their characters and unlocking new abilities.

Currently, the development of FFXIV Mobile remains shrouded in mystery, with no official announcement on its progress. Given Square Enix’s mixed track record with mobile adaptations, fans are hopeful that FFXIV Mobile will successfully revive the franchise on mobile platforms.
