Following literal months of radio silence on their blog, the Friday Night Funkin’ team (The Funkin’ Crew Inc.) had a special announcement on the 3rd of January on their blog. In this blog update, they released a special collaboration featuring the K-Pop group LE SSERAFIM and their hit single SPAGHETTI (feat. j-hope of BTS). 

Eat it up eat it eat it up

While not necessarily the 8th week update that fans of the Newgrounds based indie game have been clamoring for, this side update keeps up the hype heading into the actual week. 

For the longest time, fan mods had brought a variety of characters from outside the Newgrounds universe into the world of FNF but nobody would’ve expected an official collaboration with one of the biggest K-pop groups out there. Taking inspiration from the SPAGHETTI music video, the groups look and style together with the truck that comes crashing in takes the stage with Boyfriend rapping j-hope’s verses. Girlfriend also joins in on the fun with Chaewon at her side. 

What’s next for Friday Night Funkin’?

With there being no clear indicator of when the full Week 8 update would be dropping, fans of the franchise could try out the collab themselves in the meantime. If it’s any indicator though, seeing how they even synched the mouths to Korean and even added voice acting means there are plenty more surprises waiting in the coming weeks.
