Monster Hunter Outlanders: All Confirmed Monsters So Far

Monster Hunter Outlanders features both familiar wyverns and fresh variants within its monstrous roster. While Capcom and TiMi Studio have officially named only a few, the game’s trailers and leaks hint at quite a selection. Below are the confirmed creatures and what makes them stand out.

Certified Monsters in Outlanders

First up is Rathalos, the iconic “King of the Skies.” This male flying wyvern returns with his trademark fire breath and claw attacks. Known for territorial behavior, he remains a staple in hunting lineups.

Alongside Rathalos is Radiant Rathalos, a specially altered variant born from Outlanders’ unique environment. While it shares many traits with the standard Rathalos, it demonstrates more aggressive behavior and variant attack patterns, making encounters more unpredictable.

Next is Rathian, the female counterpart to Rathalos. She’s known for her fiercer defenses, grounded mobility, and lethal tail attacks with barbs. In Outlanders, she retains her classic role as a formidable aerial threat.

Then there’s Anjanath, a brute wyvern with dinosaur-like proportions. This beast is aggressive, burly, and known for powerful jaws and fire-breathing attacks. Expect it to dominate close-quarters combat.

Pukei-Pukei also shows up in the roster: a slim wyvern with poison attacks, tongue-based strikes, and chameleon-style camouflage. It’s tricky, nimble, and unpredictable.

Flying in next is Legiana, a wyvern with ice capabilities. Known for agility, aerial maneuvers, and cold-based attacks, it can freeze or slow foes in mid-battle.

Barroth brings the heavy hitters: with armor plating, mud rolling, and head-first charges, it presents a tough challenge especially in terrain that suits it.

Finally, Diablos rounds out the list—rooted in desert domains, it’s massive, armored, and known to burrow underground, emerge with surprise attacks, and charge with devastating force.

Variant & Future Possibilities

So far, Radiant Rathalos is the most prominently confirmed variant—offering a taste of what “augmented” beasts might bring. Beyond that, TiMi has teased that new species and entirely new variants will be added over time.

Because Outlanders takes place in Aesoland, a location infused with the rare mineral “Radiantite,” it’s likely more Radiant-type variants (or entirely new monsters) will be introduced to reflect the patchwork ecology of the island.
