Known for MMORPGs like Guild Wars and Aion, NCSOFT surprised fans at Gamescom 2025: Opening Night Live with the reveal of Time Takers. Developed by Mistill Games on Unreal Engine 5, the game blends survival shooter action with time-bending mechanics.

Time at the Heart of Survival

In Time Takers, squads of three battle until only one team remains. Instead of rigid classes, players choose from “Time Travelers” drawn from different eras—ranging from medieval knights to futuristic soldiers, and even a chimp astronaut. Each fighter comes with unique powers, but survival hinges on Time Energy, a resource spent on upgrades, revivals, and extended survival.

Dynamic Gameplay and Builds

The game avoids traditional hero-shooter limits by letting players equip any weapon and customize builds with “apps,” abilities that change playstyles. Maps span multiple eras, from castles to futuristic cities, ensuring unpredictable matches every time.

Playtest Available on Steam

Time Takers will be free-to-play, complete with Korean voice-over. The game is already listed on Steam, where fans can wishlist and register for the upcoming playtest. A release date has not yet been confirmed.
